Welwitchia University Leads CSR Impact at Emvula Combined School’s Entrepreneurship Day

Welwitchia University proudly spearheaded Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts at Emvula Combined School’s Cognoscere Entrepreneurship Day on 25 October 2025, demonstrating its commitment to uplifting education infrastructure and empowering Namibia’s next generation of innovators.

The University donated N$5,000 specifically toward the construction of a much-needed boundary wall at the school, contributing to a remarkable total of N$50,915 in cash and pledges, alongside 82 bags of cement. These resources will directly enhance the school’s facilities, creating safer and more conducive learning environments for learners and staff.

The event’s highlight was the keynote address by Welwitchia University Co-founder and Chancellor, Prof. Scholastika Iipinge. Prof. Iipinge inspired learners to embrace entrepreneurship, urging them to become job creators rather than job seekers. She linked classroom knowledge to Namibia’s Vision 2030, emphasizing innovation, value addition, and practical problem-solving as drivers of national progress. Her message powerfully illustrated how education fuels societal transformation and economic self-reliance.

The day also fostered community spirit through exciting sports competitions. Eengwena Combined School emerged victorious in netball and junior football, while Petrus N.I Combined School claimed the senior football title. These matches brought together schools, families, and supporters in a celebration of teamwork, healthy competition, and unity.
