WELWITSCHIA UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATES IN HISTORIC FIRST NAMIBIAN NATIONAL NURSES SEMINAR
Welwitschia University Joins Historic First Namibian National Nurses Seminar Windhoek, 27 February 2026 – Welwitschia University proudly participated in the inaugural Namibian National Nurses Seminar at the Country Club and Resort in Windhoek. Themed “Empowering Nurses for Quality, Safe and Innovative Healthcare,” this landmark event united professional nurses, educators, healthcare leaders, students, and stakeholders nationwide.
Organized by a dedicated committee in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Services and Queens Health Clinic, the seminar fostered vital dialogue, reflection, and commitment to healthcare excellence.
Highlights of the Day
The programme delivered rich insights, starting with an opening ceremony and
welcoming remarks. Keynote speakers included:
- Ms. Josefina N. Andjolo (Chairperson)
- Mr. Simon Matthias on strengthening unity, leadership, and excellence in
nursing - Mr. Pauleen Banda on regulation, accountability, and continuous learning
- Mrs. Kambonde on future directions for the nursing profession
- Ms. Dama Monique on inner leadership
Afternoon CPD sessions covered financial literacy and inner potential, equipping
participants with essential non-clinical skills
